To date, according to the statistics of the Ministry of Social Policy, there are approximately 9,300 children with physical and psychological disabilities in Kyiv. It is sad.
Each district of Kyiv has its own district social assistance rehabilitation center. These are state institutions. The state allocates funding only for pencils, communal services and the salary of a few (at best) social workers. AND THAT'S ALL! How should these centers rehabilitate children??? - "history is silent about it"!
And only thanks to the kindness and ingenuity of the Ukrainian people, these centers somehow find funding and survive!
We personally communicate with parents of sick children with various diagnoses and understand that the problem of rehabilitation is mega important!
The state pays UAH 1,000-1,200 per month for each child. Children can be rehabilitated in state or private centers. In both, the prices for these procedures are simply unaffordable for parents. Parents are literally crying bitter tears.
This is a picture of the situation regarding the problems of rehabilitation of children in general.
We help children with physical and mental illnesses, we want to buy medical equipment for the rehabilitation center of Darnytskyi district of Kyiv. The staff at this center are dedicated to their work with such children. But the state does not allocate funding for consumables for manual work (which is very necessary for children with various symptoms and degrees of illness), for fuel for a car to make excursion trips, trips home to sick bedridden children...
There is a huge need to purchase rehabilitation equipment for sick children with various disorders of the musculoskeletal system, children who have problems with hypertonic muscle tone, etc. Many families need such equipment. They are ready to bring the children one by one (to bring means somehow to bring someone in wheelchairs, someone to bring in the arms...) Units have cars, and transporting a sick child to get a free opportunity to improve physical and mental health for tired mothers is simply a titanic effort .
This is the device we want to buy first. It is very necessary for comprehensive rehabilitation.
